ENGINEERING / Fusion SIM Fusion SIM is Fusion’s engineering simulation suite: a Systems base edition for multi-domain models, with modules for electronics, structural, thermal, and dynamics in development, and motion, fluids, and electromagnetics planned, working directly with Fusion CAD designs.

How it connects

Portfolio advantageShared geometry, 3D results, storage, and automation connect Fusion SIM with Fusion CAD, Fusion EDA, Fusion MAT, and Fusion 3D Engine: studies refer to the Fusion CAD part instead of copying it, schematics are the same files Fusion EDA reads, and Fusion MAT runs Fusion SIM’s studies for its sweeps and optimization.
Fusion SIM’s development build: a Fusion CAD bracket meshed into quadratic tetrahedra, its von Mises stress in contour bands on the deformed part, beside its maximum displacement, stress, safety factor, and the reaction at its clamped base

What Fusion SIM brings together.

WHAT IT ENABLES One workbench, one project format, and a module for each field of engineering, linked to the designs they test. Fusion SIM is in development: the Systems base edition and the Electronics, Structural, Thermal, and Dynamics modules run in its development build on Windows and Fusion OS, and every picture on this page is a screenshot of that build.

Fusion SIM Systems

01 · IN DEVELOPMENTModel electrical, mechanical, thermal, and fluid networks together with control blocks in one multi-domain schematic, solved by one nodal analysis.

Electronics

02 · IN DEVELOPMENTSimulate circuits from schematics or SPICE netlists with semiconductor models: operating points, sweeps, frequency response, and transients, with parts of several units placed from part libraries.

Structural

03 · IN DEVELOPMENTMesh Fusion CAD parts, apply materials, fixtures, and loads, and solve for displacement, stress, safety factor, and reactions, with thermal stress at a uniform temperature or a Thermal study’s.

Thermal

04 · IN DEVELOPMENTSteady and transient heat conduction with convection and radiation, properties that change with temperature, loads that change in time, and bodies joined by contact conductances.

Dynamics

05 · IN DEVELOPMENTNatural frequencies and mode shapes with effective masses, harmonic response with damping, and transient response to loads that change in time.

Motion, fluids, and electromagnetics

06 · PLANNEDMechanisms from Fusion CAD assemblies with joints, motors, and contacts; internal and external flow with heat transfer; and low-frequency fields in motors, transformers, actuators, and inductors.

One workbench

07 · IN DEVELOPMENTThe same schematic editor, part libraries, sheets, waveform viewer, measurements, sweeps, and tuners across every module.

Studies linked to the design

08 · IN DEVELOPMENTStudies refer to the Fusion CAD part, and circuit projects to their schematic, instead of copying them, so results follow the design as it changes.

Results in 3D

09 · IN DEVELOPMENTStress on the deformed part, temperatures, and mode shapes in 3D, drawn by Fusion 3D Engine.
